Tristan or Christen?
I would really like to use the name Tristan, but I'm not too crazy about it's meaning "tumult, sadness" so I've opted for Christen. I would like to pronounce it like Christain instead of Kristen. I don't see the harm in this considering the actor Hayden Christensen pronounces part of his name like Christain. Any help?

ChristenChristen is definitely interesting and I would use it. I like it way better than Tristan and I don't see it as feminine at all--in fact, I find it a good alternative for Kristen on a boy because it seems more like Christian and thus seems more masculine. But I think most people would not pronounce it as "Christain".

Definitely Tristan, as long as it's a boy. Christen is usually a girl's name and pronounced KRIS-ten. If you want him called Christian (KRIS-chin), then please spell it Christian or Kristian, etc., otherwise it will be very confusing for him. (I assume by Christain you meant Christian.)

I'd prefer the spelling "Christian". That would get the pronounciation you want. Christen looks like Kristen to me.I'm pretty neutral between Christian or Tristan. I don't really favor one of the other.

I agreeI also recommend going with Christian rather than Tristan. People will constantly pronounce Christen like Kristen.Out of Christian and Tristan, I think I prefer Tristan. Neither name is really my style though.
