Alida
I'm liking Ali- names for girls at the moment, and after Aliza I came up with Alida. WDYT? And what about Khalida, which I've heard pronounced almost as "Halida" (with the "ch" sound of semitic languages).

I love Alida and I think it's quite pretty. I tend to associate it with Alida Valli (not that I have seen her in much). I love Khalid, so it is only natural for me to really like Khalida as well.

I like them all; in order: Khalida, Aliza, Alida.

Eh, I'm not crazy about it. Although I know it's not made up, it seems like the type of name that a parent would "make up" for their child, simply because they weren't aware that it was already a name. Yeah, that was confusing, but I hope you get what I mean. Khalida is meh. Generally I really like Arabic names, but it's just not doing it for me.

I love Alida.I grew up watching old movies. In "The Third Man" there's a European actress named Alida Valli. I fell in love with her accent and her name right off. Plus, Leda was one of my first name crushes. I've never heard of Khalida, but it's very pretty. I'm adding it to my long list, so thanks. :-) I've heard of a Greek name, Kalida, but not Arabic Khalida.

Khalida has an awesome meaning, but I'm not really a huge fan of the sound. [Same with Alida. I guess I'm not big on the -da sound]. I like Aliza better than both of them. What about Alina? I knew a girl with that name, prn uh-leen-na

I really like Alida, but I think I would rather the hard K sound than the H sound. Honestly, I think Alida is better than either of those (and definitely better than Aliza).
