Liana
What problems, associations (good and bad), possible teasings do you see for the name Liana on a girl? How would you pronounce it (please include emphasis)? (I pronounce it lee-AH-nah)

I like the name Liana, I pronounce it Lee-ah-na, I don't like it being pronounced Lee-ANN-uh, because I do not like that name (Leeanna, Leeana, Leanna, Leana)
Liana I think is lovely. The only thing I associate with Liana is the long tangly vines...but I wouldn't even have known about that if I hadn't taken a World Geography class in college..I guess kids could tease it with "lie"?

lee-AN-ai don't see any problems with this name... there was a girl in my class named Leanna and she had no problems!

I don't see any teasing potential. I love it on it's own pronounced lee-ANN-uh. However, when it's part of other names (like Liliana or Emiliana) I tend to prn. it lee-AH-nuh.

I say Lee-AH-nah too. And I see no teasing potential. I like it. I'm not sure if I prefer it better as a nn though, like for Eliana or Liliana or whatever.

My cousin is called Liana, and it's lee-AH-nah for her. I only have association related to her. Other than that I don't have any prejudices against it.
