Estella/Estelle/Stella?
My favorite name for our first girl has been Estelle for quite sometime (it is my great grandmother's name and I am named for her... she's Estelle Louise, I'm Elizabeth Louise). However, I am now torn between Estella, Estelle, and Stella (my ggm went by Stella). Also, regarding a mn, do you prefer Marie, Maris or Mae? Marie is a family name, but I really like Maris (and the meaning of Stella Maris--star of the sea--which is also the name of the church that my husband and I were married in).

So my question is... which combo of the above do you like best?
Thanks for your advice!

I LOVE Stella & I think Stella Marie makes a lovely combination. However, if you're at all worried about a "filler" or "popular" MN, then I'd say that Stella Maris is also very pretty. My preference though is Stella Marie.

Stella Maris is gorgeousBut if you want to honor family, I think Estelle Marie or perhaps Estella Marie would be better."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

I love Stella and especially Estella. Stella Maris is quite pretty, however, Estella Maris is a little less obvious (just a tad). Go for it!

Estelle is very ladyish but sounds a bit "weak" to me... contrary to Estella and Esther who have tons of personality imo. Stella is nice too, but is less my thing.Mae is really nmsaa, it sounds "old trashy" to me... Marie is nice and classic, and Maris is very nice (I also love Marissa and Marita). My mom is Marie-Simone Miriam nn Maris :)
Stella Maris is really gorgeous. In your favs, I like (* = Love)Aidan Charles* Henry* Noah* PeterCarys (spelling Cerys) Estella*

Wow!
Well you better go with Stella Maris then.
But doesn't Estella mean the same thing, star?
I perfer Estella with the nn Stella...I just think it's prettier.
Estella Maris is beautiful! And it would have the same meaning as Stella Maris but be less obvious and very pretty!Estella Maris or Estella Marissa also has the same meaning! :)

I love it. My grandmothers name is Estella Sophia and she goes by Stella. I've always thought her full name was so beautiful. Any of those would be wonderful but I would say Estelle or Estella with a nn of Stella.I'm not sure about middle names though. I don't like Marie and I kinda don't like Mae with this name. So I guess I would go with Maris.I'm not big on meanings at all but that one is nice.

I like Stella, along with Marie, Maris, and Mae (but I only like Marie and Mae as middle names, as you'd use them). Since Marie is a family name, then I'd go with that one: Stella Marie, which is lovely!Edit: Wording and spelling.

ESTELLA MARIS! ♥*ahem*Estella (nicknamed Stella or Stelle) is my favourite name of all time. I love the meaning too!
Maris is very pretty. Reminds me of Marin. :)
And if you're one of those people that combine meanings now you have "star of the sea", which I like as well.-Seda*
PS: If you like those you'd probably like Stelara. :)

I slightly prefer Estella over Stella, both are lovely. Estella Maris or Estella Marie sound great to me :)

The answer to that is "yes" lol . . .I love Estelle, Estella and Stella too! I think I marginally prefer Estella, but it's VERY marginal lol. Stella is second and Estelle third. I think. :-DStella Maris is a bit obvious, but it's much more interesting than Stella Marie or Stella Mae, so it gets my vote.
