1. Sure, I think it sounds fine. I don't think that it's necessary to worry too much about siblings matching, though.
2. I prefer it as a first name in these cases, I think.
3. I only know one that I can think of, and she's probably about thirteen now...but I know of more than one. On the other hand, I live on another continent as you, so I don't know how much it matters.
4. Pretty, but no longer to my tastes. I used to love Charlotte "Lotte" though.
