Gotta like it--my name is Melinda.

Melina is a very pretty name. I have a Greek friend with the name with the nickname of Meli, which is the Greek word for honey (which the name is derived from in spite of what the database says).

I think it's a very pretty name. It used to be one of my top faves, and though it has fallen on my list, I still find it to be very lovely.

I prefer Malina.Melina is all right, but doesn't really do anything for me. I like the meaning and look of Malina more. I also prefer Melinda and Marina and Milena. Actually, I like a lot of names that are similar to Melina, but not Melina itself.

too close to the word melename·le·na Pronunciation[muh-lee-nuh] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun Medicine/Medical. the discharge of black, tarry, bloody stools, usually resulting from a hemorrhage in the alimentary tract. Ever since someone pointed this out to me it's ruined this name. I prefer Milena or Milana but even those are kind of close.

As a nurse, I will definitely agree!

Love itMy friend is names Melina and I've always liked it. It sounds sweet but still mature :)

It's a bit sickly sweet IMO. I just picture a cutesy girl with pigtails but if I was to meet a Melina then it could change my mind entirely. It's feminine and I'm sure it would age well. And NNs Mel, Melly, Lina are available too.

I keep thinking it should be Merlina, as in the feminine form of Merlin. I say no, not least because of the obvious nickname a Melina would be given in real life (which is Mel).

I like it. Also like Malena and Milena.I think it has a nice sound, looks nice and is unusual without being weird.

I have a cousin with this name, but she spells it Mileena. Its all right.

I think that's it's a great name but I hate the nicknames Mel, Lena and Leeny so I woundn't use it. Although Melly is kinda cute.
