Iris.
Iris. I love that it's a flower name and that it means "rainbow". Gorgeous name.
I definitely prefer Iris. I think it's so pretty and is one of the underused flower names. I may be biased since this is my mom's name, but I really like it! (I think the combo Iris Victoria is gorgeous). On the other hand, I don't like Ivy at all; it just doesn't sound like a name imo...sorry.

Ivy
I love Ivy, though I prefer it spelled Ivey. It's in my top 10 favorites for girls.
Neither
My sis loves loves loves Iris, though, so that would get my vote in a "I-have-to-pick-one" match.

*grins* much appreciated. Iris gets my vote
What's not to like? Sound is good, meaning is good, associations are good (what's wrong with the eye? it's a vital organ!)... :-D

I'm not partial to either name really.
To me Ivy has a poisonous feel to it. A temptress like Poison Ivy on Batman(?). Though I do know a very sweet asian lady named Ivy.
There could be bad jokes about her being as poison as ivy, or something about an ivy leauge. So old she's covered with Ivy. *shrug* sorry.
Iris is kinda boring to me. I do know a very sweet older lady with red hair named Iris so that reminds me somewhat of her. I like most types of Iris flowers. How can rainbows be pretty and flowers not?
Iris...it just sounds funny.
Between the two I'd pick Iris I guess. I don't know.

I love both but prefer Ivy.
Ivy is bad because of the poison conotations, but any name can be twisted some how. :)

Iris
I prefer Iris over Ivy but I like both. The sound of Iris just appeals to me slightly more. It's a pretty close call, though.

Iris is my choice.Ivy is gorgeous however.
Ivy. It's a family name for me so it adds a bit to it. But I've always loved this name.
I really like Ivy, it's really cute :)
I think they are both lovely old-fashioned names, but I prefer Iris. Probably b/c this name is used where I live too (we pronounce it EE-riss though).
I also think it depends a lot on the surname. If your surname was Smith, Iris would run into it. And in that case, I would prefer Ivy.
