Violet, Violette, or Violeta???
Violet (VYE o lett)
Violette (vee o LETT)
Violeta (vee oh LETT ah)
Which do you prefer? Which do you prefer as a MN to NIOBE (nye O bee) -- Last name is 2 syllablesNiobe Violet, Niobe Violette, or Niobe Violeta

Violeta is my favorite form, but I think Violet sounds the best to make the combo.

I'm most fond of Violette -- however, I also love Violet and Violetta.I admire Niobe Violette.

I prefer Violet across the board.Violette and Violeta make me want cake, for some reason. I think it works well with Niobe, too. That said, I pronounce Violet as VYE lett; I guess I say it too fast for the "o" to be distinguishable.

Definitely Violet, the other two are overwrought in English IMO.

VioletteWell, I pronounce Niobe as "NIE-uh-bee," so I couldn't put Violet next to it with another long "i" sound.I love all three, Violet, Violette and Violetta. I recently fell for Violette because it's the name of a hip clothing store near my work. It just struck me as a chic little powerhouse of a name. Violetta (I prefer the Italian spelling) is sooooo romantic. Given the right fn it could sound lovely. But Niobe strikes me as too "non-nonsense" for dreamy Violetta. Niobe Violette is my choice. P.S. I also like Viola ("VIE-uh-luh"), but not with Niobe, obviously.
