It's not pretentious at all, seriously. I much prefer Viktor, though. Victor looks very feminine to me indeed, most likely because of Victoria. Just dropping the "ia" from the end isn't enough to change the gender for a name, at least for my preferences. Also, whenever I see Victor I (for unknown reasons) want to pronounce is VIS-tor. Viktor is so dramatically masculine and eastern European that I see no confusion. My favorite combo is Viktor Constantine.
