You're stepping up to speak for an awful lot of people. I'm not sure on what basis you think you can make the claim that "most" kids would rather have "boring" names. I have four kids, and I know lots of kids, and I certainly don't think "most" of them would prefer "boring" names. Several of the teens I know are notably, vocally irritated that they
got "boring" names. I know a young
Tracy Ann, for only one example, who tells me every time I see her that "I wish
my mom had come up with a
cool name like
Scarlett for
me."
I think
Zephyrine and
Indigo have way,
way more character than
Grant and
Bailey. If I could have named myself and had to choose between
Zephyrine and
Bailey, I can promise you
Bailey would be out the window. Ick.
