I love Calla! I tend to categorize it as a flower name because of the calla lily, which is (according to me) a good thing. For some reason I love flower names, and really don't find them very frilly at all. They're gorgeous. I think that it can not only work as a full name, but can be a nn for Calliope or Kalliope (nn Kalla). Both a great. Anyway, with Calla as a fn, I really do like Calla Bernadette. To me it flows just fine. But here are some other ideas:

Just curious, are you pronouncing it call-ah (first syllable like call, rhyming with wall, tall, ball) or cah-lah, (first syllable rhyming with ma and da?)

I quite like it. I prefer it as a nn for Calandra or Callisto/a.
