I love Alexandra, but don't care at all for the nickname Sandy. Sandy was used as a name in its own right fairly frequently for my age group, so it seems so dated and I don't know...just yuk. All I can think of is the beach when I hear it, and I'm not a fan of the beach. I knew an Alexandra nicknamed Sandy in college, by the way.

But I don't like any other nickname for Alexandra, either. That's the reason I would never use the name, although I love it.
