In Denmark...

It's pronounced as an-ne-LEE-suh, because
Liese
are
German
for the (Danish)
Lise
, which we pronounced the same way.
So in effect,
Anneliese
is spelled
Annelise
in Denmark. (Mostly spelled Anne-Lise or
Anne
Lise
though.) Just useless facts I suppose.
