WDYTO Dunstan?
I'm having really mixed feelings about Dunstan. I like the name, but although it's not popular, it seems to have a "trendyish" feel to it somehow. I'm also not sure it completely fits with my other boys' names (Edmund, Gerard, Alban, Tybalt). Yet, I still like the name. Any thoughts?

I much prefer Duncan.

It puts me in mind of an early medieval bishop - I can't get the image of a mitre and staff out of my head. It sounds stuffy to me - sorry! - I don't like it at all.

Dunstan always sounds like a town in the south of England to me. I think it's because I think of Dunstable when I see it but other than that I've no idea why. It just sounds like one of these little southern English towns with a country pub, medieval church, thatched roofs and possibly a market that's been held for hundreds of years - Upper Dunstan or Dunstan Magna or Dunstan-on-*RiverName*, something like that.I'm strange :DETA: It's doesn't sount trendy to me. Quite the opposite - I'd lump it with Edgar, Wilfrid, or Ethelred etc.

My first thought was Macbeth!
I prefer Duncan. Dunstan is too similar to Dustin for my liking.
But it works with your other boys names I think.

It reminds me of a movie about a monkey or chimp called Dunstan Checks In, which is the only time I've ever heard the name.http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116151/

Hmm. I don't really like it, as it feels like a mix of Duncan and Dustin, two names I really don't like.

DittoAnd it also makes me think of the word "dunce," which isn't the greatest association for a name.
