Veronica is on my PNL - it is one of my favourite names. I've never gotten the reason people say it sounds harsh. Griselda, Georgia (has grown a lot on me) and Drusilla may sound harsh, but not Veronica. It is an elegant, intelligent and a little melancholic name. I also love its forms Berenice and Berenika. The nickname I'd use is Ronya.

But there's one thing that doesn't make me happy - I've read too many books and seen too many films where the main character is a sensitive and shay young Veronica who is hopelessly in love with a handsome young man, or, as an alternative, dates a young man, who dies tragically during the book/film. I'm tired of Veronicas image as a name for an elf-like, "born to be artist" and impressionable lady... :D I know two Veronikas myself - one is an average journalist and another one a Polish tomboy who gets called Vero. And also a lively 8 years old girl.

Sebastian and Veronica is a tasteful and upperclassish-sounding sibset. Maybe a little too upperclassish to me, but I still love it. :)
