About Lauryn Hill's influence on Zion -- this was quite clearly a case where Ms. Hill's son had a major influence on the name. But it wasn't just reports of his birth -- his mother wrote a song called "To Zion" about him which became a hit. The song describes how she decided not to have an abortion, even though she was unwed, and how now "The joy of my world is in Zion". It was precisely the sort of song that would encourage other parents to use Zion as a name. :)
