I like itI have it as a GP for a boy, but I've known both a female and a male Sterling. I think it's an interesting name, and it walks the line of traditional and out-there GP for me. It seems more male to me, personally, but I'd like it on either gender.

This is a guilty pleasure for me, but I love it for someone else's baby. I just love the sound of it.

Ok as a mn for a boy.:)

Immediately brings to mind Stirling Mortlock - captain of the South African rugby team. Then sterling silver. I don't really like it, but would probably use the spelling Stirling, to distance it a bit from sterling silver or pound sterling. And I'd only use it on a boy.

I do like if for a boy, but it's pretty much a guilty pleasure name. If I were ever to use it, the chances that I'd use it as a first name would be pretty slim. I absolutely adore it, but can definately see its popularity (unfortunately) going up.

I like Sterling but I don't think I'd name my kid that.

I love the meaning. Although to say Sterling I immediately want to say, "silver". Not necessarily a bad thing, though.

I love it. The way it looks, sounds and it's meaning are all very good in my book.

I have really negative connotations with it, but the sound is nice.
