How do you pronounce Piers? + EDIT
PEERS (Pierce) or PEERZ?
We prefer PEERZ, but I wondered what most people would say.
>>Edit. It looks like PEERZ is the more correct pronunciation. It's listed as the only pronunciation in A World of Baby Names and on www.babynamesocean.com , and it's the first pronunciation on this site. I was more worried of how most people would pronounce it.

PEERS, sounds like Pierce. It looks like PEERZ to me, though, too. As in 'more than one pier'. :b But I've heard it prn. a few time, and it seems to sound just like Pierce. Case in point, Piers Morgan from "America's Got Talent".
PEERZ.
PEERS (Pierce)
PEERZ. I know a Piers who says it like this.
PEERZ.
PEERZ
PEERZ
PEERS (Pierce)
You could say PEERZ, but it isn't technically right.

Why do you say it isn't technically right? In English, the word - plural of pier - would be 'peerz'. No word ending in "rs" would be pronounced with a soft 'ss' sound.
Because it isn't an English name, it is French and it should be pronounced Pierce. It isn't the plural of pier.
But if it was French, the 's' wouldn't be pronounced at all. It would be 'pee-ehr'.
Peerz, because of Piers Morgan.
I'd always go for PEERZ. If you were going to name your child Pierce, then surely you'd spell it that way? Piers is a really nice name though.
I prefer the sound PEERS but I would say that name as PEERZ.
While I know it's a form of Pierce, I can't prn it that wway. I too say PEERZ. Like the word pier in plural form.
