Caitlin vs. Kaitlyn

Caitlin.

Of the two, I prefer Caitlin, though my personal favorite is Caitlyn (which could be a compromise, since it has both the 'c' and the 'lyn').
I think the Caitie spelling looks awkward with Kaitlyn, and in general, with the nickname, I prefer the 'k' (Kate is even nicer imo).

I prefer the spelling Caitlin, and I don't think Caitie looks ridiculous. You could also spell it Catie, or Caty which I think looks fine too.
Katherine/Katarina/Kataline/Katalina nn Kate/Katie?
Katherine / Katarina / Kataline / Katalina nn Kate?
I think Katherine nn Kate is lovely and would age well. Kate is more of a grown-up nn she could use when she's older.
I prefer Caitlin to Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn looks trendy and contrived in itself. It also looks a little childish I think.

I like Caitlin, but Kaitlyn doesn't look as nice to me. Plus that's a more common way to spell it, in case that matters to you. You could still spell Katie that way though, although I personally think it would be fine to spell it Caity or Caitie (although she'd have to spell it to people...). What about just Cait or Cate? I have a particular fondness for Cait which may or may not be related to a video game. :)
Caitline nn Catie
Caitlin.
I actually grew up with more girls named Kaitlyn... I only know one Caitlin. Kaitlyn's more popular, if that's a turn off for you. Honestly, I wouldn't care either way.
I only knew one Kaitlyn who went by a nickname too. She spelled it Katie, but there were so many Katies she started spelling it Kaity.
