As Eva becomes more popular, more parents will turn to Eve, and as Eve becomes more popular, more parents will turn to Eden.
I think the phenomena is called "piggybacking" or something like that.
Piggybacking could explain why Addison and Madeline have become popular after Madison.
And the aforementioned Eva is piggybacking off Ava, which is really just the English spelling of Eva, pronounced AVA in Germany. Therefore Eva and Ava are practically the same name.
