WDYT? Nice or pretentious? I dislike Millicent.

It's pretty, though I prefer Millicent. :-)

I Love it! In the book the Secret of Platform Thirteen it was the name of a water nymph(or something like that) and that's the only time I've ever heard it. I don't think its pretentious at all. I love how it looks and I like it much more than Milicent .

I like it (prefer spelt Mélisande) but I still think Millicent has a sweeter sound and look. Nice alternative though, if you don't like Millicent.

This has always been a GP of mine. I never thought it sounded pretentious, but I did think of it as very ethereal, very fantasy-world-esque. I love it!

I like this name. It does sound a wee bit pretentious, but I personally have a weakness for some high-falutin' names.

It's pretty, although I'd worry about pronunciation, depending on the area. I like the sound (and I hate Millicent, too). It also has pretty nicknames (Mellie, Millie, Sandy, Lissa, etc).

I like it, I would probably only use it as a mn.
I like Millicent too, but proably only as a mn as well.

I like it, it has a nice sound. I've always loved Millicent as a GP but would never use it b/c I dislike the nn Millie.
