Interesting sibset
I actually spotted this in a satirical uk magazine in their 'pseud's corner' section.'to Rebecca and Mark, a precious son, Ptolemy Ned, brother to the gorgeous Atticus Monty, and the beautiful Octavius Kit.'So wdyt? It's so OTT, but I'm struggling not to like Octavius Kit!EDT: just to clarify, sorry, the sibset is real, it was submitted by a reader. (you get £10 for submissions, wish I'd spotted it lol)

I think Ptolemy is cute but just too over the top to actually use in real life. And the pairing with Ned seems kind of odd to me. I absolutely love Atticus, but what's with Monty? Seems like this family likes to give nickname mns. Octavius...I am a sucker for Roman names, but again, this is just a bit too much. I do love Kit as a nickname for Charles or Christopher.
Funny that this is intended as satire, as I am all too sure that many many families (esp. yuppies) would jump on these names.

Ptolemy is just downright awful, but Ned is an okay NN. I used to think Atticus was a horrendous name, but after reading To Kill A Mockingbird, I don't mind it. It's kind of cute! And while I would never use Octavious, Octavia is beautiful!

It's definately very brave of them. Interesting names but quite uncommon. I don't dislike any of them... nms though.

Atticus is an all time favorite name of mine. Ptolemy and Octavius are not favorites however I do apprecitate them for being bold, unique and having great histories with fantastic namesakes. Kudos to the parents.

If it were real...I would think the parents were pretentious as hell - and I'm a name nerd. Heaven knows what most "normal" people would think of them. But I actually wouldn't be surprised to see such a sibset in Primrose Hill or some such place. The only remnants of the set I could like > Octavia, for a girl. It's been boosted by HBO's "Rome".

it is real!sorry, to clarify, someone has spotted the actual BA and submitted it to the magazine, it really isn't made up! lol. No I'm not entirely surprised either. I can't see those kids ever being integrated into 'normal' society, they'll be closetted off in a pretentious elite all their lives.

Oh!Sorry, when you said "satirical" I thought it was a "Private Eye" sort of thing! Gosh, that's dreadful. Ptolemy Ned?! :shakes head:

it was in Private Eye but the submissions are from readers. When I hear Ned it always reminds me of Nedward 'Ned' Flanders :)

It reminds me of a ned as in a little delinquent in a shell-suit and Burberry baseball cap. Which is why it's so funny paired with Ptolmeny :-D

This is like the kind of thing you find if you read the Daily Telegraph BAs!None of these kids' names are my style, although I do really like Rebecca and Mark.S xx

The names are definately interesting, and they're quite bold. In fact, I kind of respect them for using Ptolemy, Atticus and Octavius. Ptolemy is the one that I think is most out there (the others seem plenty usable), but in general I think the sibset is kind of cool!
