I have always said it Ti-MEE-us or Tim-AE-us, but MYE us works too. That is not good with my combo, though - Lucian Gaius Timaeus. (this is a character of mine, he goes by Gaius, his father's name is Lucius.)I am always intrigued by non-Roman names that end in S.

I like it. I would pronounce it Tih-MAY-us. I would suggest a simple, straightforward one-or two- syllable mn for this...

I love it.In German, we pronounce it the Greek way, tee-MAY-uhs (not exactly but you get the idea), in English, I would probably pronounce it tim-MAY-us, not tie-MEE-us as proposed by btn.com. Well, either way I really like it. It's special but not too strange.
I think it looks and sounds better as a mn but I'd also use it as a fn, I guess and sometimes use the nn Tim (not all the time, though; fns are there to be used and not just "on paper").Timaeus Lyle
