Re: Laila

Layla is my name. That being said, I've never been fond of any of the alternate spellings. It looks so much nicer to me spelled Layla. I do like it, although I'm finding it hard to imagine myself at an older age with the name Layla.
It does work, as it's becoming increasingly popular and trendy in the US nowadays. Again, being a Layla and being of Middle Eastern descent, I really can't picture a non-Middle Eastern Layla, but that's just me.

It looks the best spelled Layla to me as well - although that's entirely influenced by Eric Clapton.
Even though it's becoming trendy, all the Laylas (or Leilas) I've met have been Middle Eastern. I'm curious if its popularity is due to a rise of Middle Eastern persons in the US or the name becoming more popular with more ethnic groups.
