I think Gemma is adorable, and a great alternative to Emma. I like Gemma Caroline.

It's really 80s and dated where I live, I know so many Gemmas and Jemma's in their 20s it's become boring.

I really like Gemma. I also like Emma but I never make the connection between Gemma and Emma.

I think it's a great name. I suggested it to my parents when they were naming my sister, and they ended up using it. Now I wish I'd kept it to use myself! For some reason I love it even though I dislike Emma, which is pretty similar.

As far as mns go, my sister is Gemma Louise, which flows, but Louise is way overused as a mn. I also know a Gemma Lucy, but I don't think that flows very well. Suggestions:

I love the name Gemma, it's always been a fave of mine actually. I think it would be a great alternative to Emma.

I think it's nice and it's a good alternative to Emma.

I love Gemma. Gemma has a completely different feel to me than Emma, despite their similar sound. Gemma is quite refreshing to me, esp compared to Emma.

Much better than Emma for the simple reason that not everyone is using it. I love it very much.
