Well, to be honest, I don't think of Earth as a name...for a person, that is. So, no I don't think it could be unisex because I don't see it as a name for a person. I suppose Eartha could work for a girl, though, if one is a fan of Eartha Kitt and wanted to honour her. Earth, though, just seems too...spacey of a name. :/ I can't take it seriously.
However, it does depend on the person. If I knew the asker to be an 'über-granola' sort whose naming tastes leaned more towards the hippy spectrum, I would concede the name would work wonderfully for them. But I'd most likely still possess my original perceptions of the name.
