Olivia, hands downI absolutely love this name! In fact, it's one of my top favorites. I just think it's such a classy, feminine name that ages well.Penelope, on the other hand, strikes me as harsh sounding and dated. I don't care for it at all.

Penelope all the way.Olivia is beautiful, but overused. Penelope is very strong and pretty, and the nickname Penny is spunky. The whole name is due for a revival.

Penelope! It's classic and feminine but not frilly, when Olivia is overused and ugly.

Penelope!
Olivia is way over-used.
Penelope is pretty, has never been overly popular at any time period and so won't date her. It's historic and classic - the name of the Elizabethan Lady Penelope Devereux, as well as up-to-the minute - Penelope Cruz and baby Penny in "Desperate Housewives".
There was a Penelope at school and another at college and I've always thought how attractive a name it is.

I like Olivia much better, except that it is so extremely overly popular. Any other options?
