Great name! Not overly common, yet still Biblical and classy. I love it.

i must add, only pronounced 'da-MAR-iss'.

Love it!

This is OK, but it reminds me of demerit (as in demerit points on your license for speeding). Having said that if I heard it on a little girl or a woman, I wouldn't gag, I'd be pleased.

I like it, but I'm not all that fond of it's English pronunciation. The Greek is more pleasing to my ears.

It's an interesting name, but not one that I personally like very much or see myself using. I like the idea of it, and I wouldn't mind seeing it used (sparsely) in BAs, but it's not a name that I can readily become emotionally attached to. It doesn't generate warmth and friendliness when I see/say it.I suppose it's one of those names that I like seeing contemplated on message boards, but I can't imagine a person actually having.

Never liked it.I like Maris by itself...but Damaris doesn't do anything for me. It sounds like the name of a town, not a person. I wouldn't mind meeting one but I wouldn't personally use the name.

I don't like how the first sylable sounds like "damn". I'd like the name much better if it were prn like dah-MAR-iss.

That's how I say it anyway.
