WDYTO Marjorie?

It is my favorite spelling of the name (the traditional Scottish) but it will forever bring to mind margarine for me. I do find it dated.
My aunt's name is Marjorie, and she has never liked the nn she acquired with it... Marge. It caused endless teasing for her in school. So if you could be for sure that the nn was something less harsh, I say go for it... it sounds lovely and sweet.
I like the spelling of Marjorie better... for some reason it seems more elegant to me.
Am horrible at adding mn... all of you are so much better at it, so will leave it up to the rest of you.

Marjorie is a cute name. I don't think I've ever thought about the name, but I do actually like it. It doesn't seem dated to me.
I like either Marjorie or Marjory for the spelling.
MN suggestions:
Marjorie Adele
Marjorie Vivian
Marjorie Eloise
Marjorie Carol
Marjorie Joyce
Not sure if any of the above are your style, but I just thought I'd give it a try anyway. :D

This is my Grandmother's name.
I actually kind of like it, and it's been on my mind lately.
I want to honor it in my children's name somehow.

I think it is a lovely name. Marjorie spelling only please. Margery looks to backwoodsy and clunky to my eyes. I know a girl (17 years old) named this. Her fn/mn is Marjorie Diane (her sister is Nancy Claire [I think they suit each other well, for what it is worth]) and I think that is nice but I would prefer Marjorie Diana.
I prefer Margery for it's medieval link and it's nursery rhyme appeal: See Saw, Margery Daw". But Marjorie is the name of a lot of my mother's friends (and my mother would be 68 this year, if she were still alive), I can think of at least 4 off the top of my head and I know she had more Marjorie friends than that!
Margery Alice
Margery Cecilia
Margery Therese
Margery Catherine
Margery Patrice
Margery Agnes
Margery Rosemary
Margery Anne
Margery Honora
and I'd nickname her Daisy in a heartbeat.
