Janet
For some reason, this name has a very special appeal to me. It reminds me of a name of a bird for some reason. I think I might be the only one who finds a touch of whimsy in it though, but I do have a really good association named Janet. I like that it is a medieval pet form of Jane too. Janet Elinor seems delightful.

I have a friend named Janet. She's a gorgeous young woman and very smart, so the name has very good associations for me. Janet Elinor is lovely.

Awesome comboI'm also a fan of Janet (also because of Jane Eyre) and I adore Elinor - especially that spelling.

Janet's a really cute yet underused name! If you have the opportunity to ever use it, I would.

Janet Elinor is enchanting. Elinor wakes up Janet for me.I love seeing names rediscovered. Jane / Janet is lovely. Janet makes me think of Mr. Rochester and Jane Eyre. It's so sweet when he calls her Janet.

I know a lot of great ones (and Jans), but I just don't like it. Love Jane though!

My name is Janice, as I mentioned further down the board, and I've always been so glad my parents chose Janice and not Janet because while I think Janice is okay, I just can't stand Janet. The IS sound on the end of Janice makes it so much more appealing than the IT sound on the end of Janet, in my opinion.
Someone made a post a few months ago about which people preferred, Janice or Janet, and I was amazed that the majority said Janet. But everyone's entitled to their opinion, and since it's my name and I got the one I prefer, then all's well.

I hope this doesn't offend you, but I like the "et" ending. Janice always reminded me of Eunice--though I don't hate Janice. I have a talented violinist acquaintence named Janice.
