I love Arthur--it brings to mind a lot of really good associations--and while I do also love Art and Artie (as in Tatum and Shaw, natch), I can totally dig using just Arthur. Very handsome--immediately reminds me of Christian Bale's character in Velvet Goldmine, to be honest. :)
Of your combos, I think I like Arthur David the best, and then Arthur Louis (I'd also like Arthur Lewis). Samuel doesn't hold up well next to Arthur, in my mind--too plodding in comparison to A's smoothness.
