I suppose I have contradicted myself though. I do rather like Blaise on a female. :-X
Blaise lends itself better to being, for lack of a better word, unisex. When I see Blaise, I don't necessarily assume male. James is traditionally a male name. It's like naming a girl Adam. :)
ETA: I suppose anything could be 'unisex' though. Meredith is traditionally a male name and I don't think I've ever heard of a male Meredith.
