It's nice, but Sam and Sammie, especially for girls, bore me beyond measure.

I love Samara and its meaning, but I don't love the movie The Ring from which it was popularized. It's still a nice name though, I would still use it.

I like Samara very much. Sammy and Sam ruin it for me, though--I prefer Mara as the nickname or just Samara.

It reminds me of samurai. It doesn't really appeal to me.

I don't like Mara or Sam names, so it follows that I don't like Samara, but I also have really bad name association with this one.

I don't care for Samara. It reminds me of a samurai and violence, and that creepy girl from the ring.

It's cute (so are the nick names), but it reminds me too much of The Ring to become something I'd really like.

I like it, though I don't know how much I like the nicknames.
