Zephyr
Zephyr
I thought this name would make an interesting discussion. It's not trendy enough for me to hate it, and I don't find it too nerdy either. The way it's spelled looks like I'd hate it, but I still don't. I guess it's an anomaly. A friend of mine has a son named Zephyr Tristan.
With all that said though, it doesn't quite make the PNL cut. Maybe for a middle name. With a considerable amount of favoritism on Wolfgang for me at the moment, I was looking at other rare male names.

It's one of those names that's good on paper but that I can't imagine on a real human being. Personally, I'd save it for a pet.
I love it but for a girl only.
It's on my list, but not top-tier; mainly a mn for me. I have a fabulous dear friend named Sean who is like a force of nature, so in his honor I created my combo Sean Zephyr. Finding I liked the sound of it quite a lot, I therefore also paired John Zephyr, for my dad, who is also something of a force of nature and reminds me of a gale force wind *LOL* (he's a talker and a sport pilot).
I do realize that Zephyr / the west wind is thought of as milder than a gale, but hey, wind is wind; and Zephyrus was said to be the father of horses -- nifty swifty! =D
I also like Zephyron quite a lot, though I don't have any firm combos for it at this point.

Zephyr feels too juvenile for me. But I'm in love with a feminine variant Zephirine.
I bought climbing roses named "Zephirine Drouhin." (They are a gorgeous cherry pink that does well on a northern facing wall.) What do you think of Zephirine?
Wolfgang is fun, but also suffers from a slightly *too* youthful feeling for me. What about Wolfram? It has a slightly more sophisticated sound to me. Wolfram von Eschenbach wrote medieval variants of the Tales of the Round Table. I fell in love with his name at once. I love Wolfe too, after Wolfe Tone.

Marie-Zephyrine!
Neat-o, cool-o! No, I didn't know about Marie-Zephyrine. That must have been controversial back then. Then again, when you are ruler of all you survey perhaps you don't care. Poor little thing, she only made it to 5 years of age. But thanks for the tid-bit.
I had to go back and check the spelling of the rose bush because I can never quite remember how to spell it. So now I see that it can be spelled either way.

It's not a name I would choose for my child, but I would't hate it on somebody else's.
Ridiculously cool - I really love it although I highly doubt that I'd ever consider using it (it's probably a bit too cool for me!)
I don't particularily like Zephyr Tristan as a combo - Zephyr deserves a really cool, really quirky middlename to go with it. Something with spunk and attitude. I see Tristan as a little weaker and much trendier. I've always thought it's a bit of a 'pretty-boy' name. I don't really know why though...
Still, good name and awesome meaning. One of my favourite mythology names.

I always thought the same thing! A pretty boy name. So weak.
Not a favorite of mine either. I agree with the connotation of weak.
