Danielle for a boy
Have a friend who wants to use Danielle for a boy. What's everybody think?

Maybe you could convince her to do Daniele?
As a Danielle...
I have got to say that is a terrible idea. I work with a Daniel and it is really annoying when our names are pronounced the same way.
:)Danielle
PS. I certainly don't have big hair or legwarmers- at least not at this point in time!-D.

That is just weird. Danielle, although a good name for a girl, will not work on a boy. Plus, Danielle is a feminime form for an even more traditional boys name Daniel. It is like naming a son Alexandra.
You sure she didn't mean Daniel?
Why the heck would someone use a feminine form of a name on a boy? Where's the Earth Logic in that?
Sorry to say, I hate the name Danielle on a girl. On a boy would just be even more ridiculous. (Though I actually like Daniel alright. Go figure.)

Oh, I'm the same way.
I despise Danielle. It just seems so...I dunno, 80's & tacky in the way of HUGE hair, hot pink lipstick & striped legwarmers.
Daniel has a totally different vibe. ;o)

Me, too. [m]
Daniel is my favorite boys' name. Danielle is my LEAST favorite "legit" (not made up) girls' name.

Ditto

I've always thought the same thing. Plus, my brother is named Daniel, so Danielle for a boy is almost an insult.

Yup, that's exactly why I don't like Danielle.
It's massively dated, IMO.

I don't see why not if she prefer's that spelling or saying go for it [I hate Daniel and Danielle but if she had to pick
I'd go with Danielle]. He could always even say it's Daniel still it could work.
Daniel is a gross name my BIL runied that name forever.

Move to France, spell it Daniel and everyone will still use her preferred prn.
exactly
But spelling a boy's name Danielle is simply ridiculous.
