Jaylyn.
Today during "Remedial Algebra One" (AKA "study hall," as I have an A in Trigonometry at the moment) I was reading the local newspaper and saw a happy ad for a little girl's first birthday. Her name is Jaylyn Rose. *cries* I really do worry for the future of America. . .

I know two girls with that name, but one is spelled Jailyn (her sister is Jeordyn) and the other is Jailynn. I really dislike it, and Jeordyn as well.
yeesh
Trigonometry sounds way more fascinating.

What fantastic style!
And in case you didn't notice, that was sarcasm...

I really wish the "using masculine names on girls and then misspelling them" trend would end. Jalen on a boy doesn't bother me as much, though I still find it a bit trendy, even for boys. I bet her parents thought it was so "unique" when they named her. But Heidi is right, an ugly name doesn't define what type of person she will be.

Where do I begin?
1. Jaylyn is a misspelling of what is otherwise a fine, fine name (Jalen).
2. Jalen is a MASCULINE name. Now, when etymology and the like aren't considered, I can see how some people may think Madison, Mackenzie, and the like are feminime names. But Jalen is just... well, masculine. How can it possibly be otherwise?!
Oh well. Let's just hope no one off of BtN is aware of these facts, and she should get along just fine in the world, yeah?

Who's Jailin' Rose? ;]
I wonder what she did wrong.
I wonder what she did wrong.
It is an ugly name...
But who cares? It's not like she's going to be any worse of a citizen because she has a crappy trendy name...I feel even worse about Kaylinn or Kaylyn ect..but oh well...the teens I know with these names are nice.

I agree. I don't like the name, but I don't think it's the worst thing in the world. It's just a trend, like other names have waxed and waned in popularity.
Jaylyn is the Tammy of our generation.
Each generation has had names like these...they're just more common than before. Brian Wilson's mother was Audree. I think people tend to forget these things, though when I saw Jazzmyne on a BA I nearly went beserk. :-D
