WDYT of Karolina?
I've seen this name around a bit, and it's starting to grow on me. I think it's the K at the beginning and ending -a, rather than -e, but I feel like it looks so different than Caroline. I'm still waffling, but I think I like it. What are your thoughts and what would you pair it with?
Edited to add: I pronounce this Care-uh-leen-ah, and yes, I'm part German.

I hate most C names changed to K...
this one included.
this one included.
It's one of my top girls name, so I love it.
I love Karolina, but not with the pronunciation you like.
Do you like the Car-uh-leen-ah pronunciation, then? I'm not sure I like the strong Car- sound at the beginning. I always waffle over it, whether it sounds too harsh or not.
I prefer kah-ro-LEE-nah (like the listed German prn.).
I prefer it spelled Carolina.
Some K names (that are also C names) are actually legit, though
yes, thank you, i've been forgiven
:)
:)
It is the correct spelling if you're Polish, I believe.

I guess my post was redundant. Sorry.
While I sort of agree...
Karolina is legit (it's the Polish, German, and a few others form), and so is Karol, though it's masculine- Karol on a girl would be odd, and I assume that's what you meant. It's not a trendy K spelling.
I do agree that Carolina looks so much nicer! I'm tired of even legit Ks. Maybe that's really what you meant and I just misinterpreted because I'm tired- if so, I'm sorry!
Carolina Hazel is lovely, by the way.

Thanks, glad you liked Carolina Hazel.
I'm not from Poland, Germany, or a few others, so to me it looks entirely contrived. I understand now that it's legit. But unfortunately at first glance it grabbed me like the kreatyve names do. :)

Makes sense. :)
ROFL and nicely said
If they come from a language where K is the norm, sure. But randomly changing a C to a K is just silly.

This is turning into a "the more you know!" post. *g*
I had no idea. I thought it was simply an alternate/modern version of Carissa.

I adore it. Though I slightly prefer Carolina, I think your spelling would stand a better chance of being pronounced how you prefer (that is, if you live in an English-speaking culture).
I do, I live in the US, and I know spelling it with a C would mean it would be pronounced just like the state. I like the Care-uh-leen-ah pronunciation much more than Care-ah-line-ah.
