I had a Danish friend when I lived in Germany, whose name was Kjaira, pronounced as "sh" at the beginning or "k" at the beginning. I chose to pronounce it with a K, so dropped the J from the spelling of my daughter's name, making it Kaira. She was born in 1975, and has only met one other person named the same, with the same spelling. Any ideas of other originations? Thanks!
