Shayna and Shani
WDT? I generally like longer, more elaborate names, but these two are growing on me, possibly because they've got nice meanings. I used to snub Shayna because it reminded me of Shayna Twain and therefore looked all country music-y and tacky, but I like it better now, possibly since I found out it's actually a Jewish name and has a history.

Errrr.... Shayna and Shania are two completely different names with different spellings and meanings.
Also adding that my name is Shayna. It's alright. Done me well. But people have a fricken hard time wrapping their heads around the pronunciation, and it's a simple enough name. It's a source of constant annoyance to me, because I just don't GET how people can look at it and not understand: shay-na. I've been shah-NIE-ah, SHAN-yuh, SHAN-nah (skipping over the "y" sound entirely, then?) and a number of other stupid things. It's NOT that hard! *headdesk*

I prefer your spelling! But it still looks like it sounds.
I actually tend to congratulate people who get either my first or my last name right the first time. Which is silly, but it makes me smile, too.

I love both the sound and meaning of Shayna. It's sometimes spelled Sheine and Jeanette or Jane were often used as anglicised approximations of it by girls from Yiddish-speaking families.
In Hebrew the equivalent in meaning is Yaffa.
There's a variant, Shayndel (Sheindel), the name of someone I know.
Shani means "scarlet" in Hebrew and evokes the legend of the "scarlet thread".
I love Shayna.
