Jamison
As I recently posted, my fiance has totally shot down all my fav boys names, so i'm trying to recreate my list...WDYT of Jamison, nn Jamie? Also, my fiance's name is James so would it be ultra cheesey to name our son Jamison?

I quite like it, though I do really prefer the Jameson spelling, either is very nice. I also think it'd be a nice alternative to just naming James.

I really like it; I think it's somewhat of a more 'modern' name instead of the traditional James. Hopefully he will go for it since it's like his name! I love Jamie as a nn, or Jamey. Have you considered the spelling Jameson? I just thought that might keep it consistent with his FN's spelling.

I love Jamison nn Jamie. It might be a little cheesey since your fiance's name is James, but it's not that bad.

Actually, I think it's a nice thought to use Jamison if your fiance's name is James. Generally I'd rather see a James, but since Jamison would work meaning wise here.. why not? I think it would be more handsome in the mn spot, as its surnamey. NN Jamie is fine.

I'd love to be able to use James, but can't unfortunately. My fiance has a 5 year old son from a previous relationship and his mn is James, so I don't want to re-use it.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of surnames as first names. However, if you like the name, you should use it. Especially since it may be hard for you and your fiance to agree on the same name.

Thanks, it certainly does look like it's going to be hard when the time comes!
