"hidden theme" twinsets
I picked Malka from Mrs Claire's thread yesterday and I'm loving it at the moment. Because it means "queen", it set me thinking on an idea I toy about, that is, twinsets with names that look totally different but have similar meanings. So here goes:Malka and Regina
Shulamit and Irene
Philippa and Eowyn (not sure I'd really use it since I'm really not into Tolkien)
Deborah and MelissaWDYT? I can't think of any for boys, though.

I love Malka. However, I don't like the twinsets. I love Malka, Shulamit, Phillipa, and Deborah, but I'm lukewarm on Regina, Irene, Eowyn, and Melissa. *shrugs*Have you ever looked at this link? http://www.behindthename.com/twins.php
Gotta love Mike C.Anyway I really love the idea of doing that and would probably do it myself. Not sure how, though and don't have time to come up with an idea.

I agree, I generally frown upon "theme-y" twinsets, but if it is something subtle like meaning, I think that could be nice...as long as you like both names independently as well.Have you seen this? -it's a great list-http://www.behindthename.com/twins.php

Like Joan-Ay, I don't like themes, but when it's not obvious, it's really cool. What about Asher and Isaac? They don't have the SAME meaning, but "Happy" and "He laughs" go hand in hand.Ari and Leo (the number of letters might be too twiny, maybe? Arieh and Leonardo, perhaps)I'd like Anna, Carys, and Grace for three girls, but Grace gives it away.

I usually don't like themey twinsets, but I don't mind when it's not obvious. If you hadn't mentioned that had simliar meanings I would not have known they matched. Malka and Regina is nice, and although I dislike Deborah, I like Deborah and Melissa together. So, yeah, cute idea!
