WDYTO Cecilia?
I really like it, especially with the nn Celia. WDYTO Celia as a nn for Cecilia or in general? Feel free to be harsh. Any combos?

I like Cecilia, but It's not something I'd use alone as a fn - I happen to know a Cecilia, who isn't that clever or beautiful, and the name looks silly on her. On the other side, I know a wonderful pianist named Cecilia and the name fits her perfectly - a lot depends on the bearer! (I prefer Cecilia as a middle name thoguh)
I love also Celia either as a full name or as a nickname.
I'm sure that I'll use Anna-Cecilia on my first daughter, because Cecilia honours the st. Cecilia (I'm a flautist). Sounds weird, but I love it's meaning as well! :P

I love Cecilia. For me, Cecilia is a rare study in contrasts. It's both young and silly and old and serious, saintly and sensual, frilly and fusty. I think this versatility makes it a fun name.
Cecilia Clare
Cecilia Lorraine
Cecilia Augustine
Cecilia May
Cecilia Caroline
Cecilia Rachel
Cecilia Yvette
Cecilia Nerys
Cecilia Kerensa (could loosely be interpreted as "love is blind")
I like Celia both as a nn and on its own.

i really dont like it only coz there is a girl at my daughters school called it and she's a really horrible girl!
This name has grown on me so much within the last six months, or so. I didn't used to care for it (have no idea why), but I now think it's so lovely and feminine. I generally prefer it as a MN, though, I think it makes a very nice FN, too.
I don't care for Celia as a nickname or on its own. It just seems incomplete to me. Cecilia is so much prettier!

I love it. It's a name I could imagine myself using. One of the names I think has the perfect balance of uncommon but not weird, pretty but professional. And the nn Cici is wonderfully spunky.
I don't really care for it.
I'll actually be using the name (if I marry the guy I'm with, it's the name of his favorite aunt) but it's a bit twee to me. Celia is adorable and I prefer it to Cecilia.

Cecilia is an okay name, but I really dislike the meaning, which is "blind", or "the way for the blind".

I have always thought Cecilia is a beautiful name. It is maybe a bit old fashioned, but this type of name seems to be getting more popular. A nice combination is Cecilia Rose. Celia would work as a nn, but I personally like Cecilia much better.
