My new response to the inevitable "But mixing ethnicities sounds baaaaaaaad!" comment is this:
If it's good enough for a college professor called Mei-Ling Velasquez-Sepulveda, it's good enough for everyone else, too.
Being, say, Angus del Pizzo isn't going to keep a person from being successful in life, despite what people might think. I think the combination of Scottish Italian (or Culture Other Culture in general) is perfectly fine, and I can't help but see xenophobia in people who think otherwise.
As for the names themselves, while I like Angus a lot, I think Hamish is blegh.
