Ellie is a great name as a nickname or a full name. It works as nickname for Eleanor, Ellen, or I guess Ella. Either way, Ellie is great although I perfer Eleanor and Ellen but that is just my opinion because Ellie does work.

I forgot about Elizabeth which I love but Elizabeth has so many choices for nicknames, so instead of Ellie I girl would probably now go by Liz or Lizzie.
