Found out our twins are boys
I had an ultrasound on Thursday and found out that our twins are boys. We've really struggled with boys names, but we think we have it down to five choices, hopefully we will be able to choose. So which do you like best? Middle names will be Haley and Bishop (both family names). Last name is Pickle. Popularity doesn't bother us. Jackson has special meaning to us, because it is where my husband and I met, and we were both born in towns with Jackson in the name.
Jackson and Elijah (Jack & Eli)
Jackson and Lucas (Jack & Luke)
Elijah and Lucas (Eli & Luke)
Elijah and Josiah (Eli & Joe/Joey)
Josiah and Nathaniel (Joe/Joey & Nate/Nathan)
Thanks!

Elijah "Eli" and Lucas "Luke" are my favorites from your list. They're part of a long list of names that I really, really like but just aren't my own favorites, so I'm pleased to see other people using them. :-)
Have you ever considered John nicknamed Jack? I'm not a fan of Jackson but I think John "Jack" with Elijah "Eli" or Lucas "Luke" would be nice as well.

Personal preference:
1. Elijah and Nathaniel [wow, my two top favorite boy names :)]
2. Elijah and Josiah (Josiah is quite popular, at least here, but still substantial)
ties with
2. Elijah and Luke (Luke is just more attractive sounding to me, and if that's what you're going to call him anyway, its a legit name on its own)
Other thoughts:
The only one I don't care for is Lucas, though I love Luke. I don't really care for Joe/Joey, and while Nate and Nathan are both great, I love Nat for Nathaniel (and I really like the spelling Nathanael). I personally don't mind Jackson, but although you said popularity doesn't bother you, I think Jackson might be seen more as trendy than popular.

That's a good point. I might should use another name with special meaning, especially since if we ever end up having girls they will be named after my parents. But the other child will have a family name as a middle name so it does have meaning. But we did have Garrett on our list, which is derived from my father in law's name. Maybe we will consider using it again. I do like Jackson and Garrett together.
Elijah and Lucas -m
I think Eli and Luke are wonderful as brothers/twins.
I wish I could recommend Jackson for you, given its connection to you both, but Jack Pickle is a little too raunchy.

Elijah and Lucas!
Josiah and Nathaniel
Second this.
Non-trendy, biblical, long-standing and upperclass.

Oh what happened to Jacob? :(
Well, I must say that I loved William and Jacob, but I like pretty much all of your names, although I would prefer Jack to Jackson and John nn Jack to Jack as a full name. But then again, I allow myself to say Rudolph honors Robert, Laurentius honors Larry, and Maria honors every form of Mary. So John "Jack" would easily honor Jackson to me. But most people don't stretch honoring that far.
How do you feel about Luke as a full name? I like it so much more, it's so handsome and simple and stately and calm. Lucas is angrier and more similar to an ant to me.
I like the way Haley ends openly and Bishop ends closedly, and I would pair them with opposite names: Bishop with the open-ended Elijah or Josiah, and Haley with Nathaniel, Jackson, or Lucas. They're all pretty good combos.
My personal favorite sibset out of these is Elijah Bishop and Lucas Haley. But you can't go very wrong. Unless you picked Jackson and Nathaniel, which both leave me slightly cold.

We still love Jacob, but we had to eliminate some names or I don't think we would ever be able to make a decision. But we change our mind about every two weeks, so who knows Jacob might make it's way back. And we just didn't like William with our last name, although we love the name.
And I really like John (nn Jack), but I have a cousin named John, and I had dated a guy named John, so I think that might be a little weird for my husband if we used John. I like Jackson as the full name because I think the extra syllable makes it sound nicer with our last name, since both have the "ck" sound. Plus it does have the special meaning for us. Same goes for Luke. I love Luke on it's own, but with our last name I think the extra syllable in Lucas makes it flow better.
