Yay! I'm a big fan of Fenella. I say add it to your shortlist.
There are two things holding Fenella back from U.S. popularity, imo. Parents who aren't familiar with it are probably scared off by the foody sound of it, with vanilla and fennel and all. I think parents who are familiar with Fenella might be putting it in the "a little too English for American children" box with names like Clive and Basil. For the parents who aren't phased by these ideas, Fenella is a wonderful choice. It would make a distictive mn, too.
