I'm not Jewish but I love Jewish culture, somehoe I consider myself culturally Jewish or anyway "Judeified". I like a lot of Jewish/Hebrew names such as Zipporah, Shulamit, Rivka and I think they're useable for a non-Jew, but something about Ilan just screams: "sun-burned sabra kibutznik".

Just a note to say that in modern usage the h on the end of names like Zipporah tends to be dropped. An Israeli called Geula told me that.
