Laurel ?
What middle name would you pair with Laurel? Family names we would like to use are Helen, Cecilia, Mae/May, and Christine. None are speaking to me with Laurel, though Laurel Christine is decent enough. I'm totally open to all ideas at this point. Kathleen isn't going to work, because I can't honor one grandmother and not the other.

I asked below what your mother's name is. Just as a challenge, I thought I might be able to find a variant that you both like as a fn instead of Laurel. Then we could try to find a variant of Kathleen to put with it. Then, world peace breaks out all over. :-) You don't seems that excited about Laurel, that's the only reason I ask.Anyway, back to the task at hand. Mns for Laurel:Laurel Patricia (I get the image of a Roman patrician with a laurel wreath)
Laurel Artemis
Laurel Imogen
Laurel Amelia / Emilia
Laurel Catriona (variant of Kathleen)
Laurel Sophie
Laurel Sylvie / Sylvia (a forest of laurel trees?)
Laurel Celeste
Laurel Sandrine
Laurel Eye (variant of Lorelei?)
Laurel Aisling
Laurel Maeve
Laurel Anais
Laurel Saskia
Laurel Elspeth
Laurel Odette
Laurel Vivien
Laurel Viveca
Laurel Kateri (another variant of Kathleen)
Laurel Maia
Laurel AstraeaHappy hunting!

Yes...but I'm not sure if I'd like to honor my mom.Or either of our moms. ;-) Kateri: I'd feel guilty for mispronouncing it.I really like/love:
Laurel Astraea and Laurel Artemis. Laurel Maia would be neat as well.

I understand completely. One thing, I'm thrilled you like Laurel Artemis. But I feel compelled to point out that the Romans called Artemis Diana. This sort of honors your mother, which you might not want. Plus, it leaves out Kathleen. Shame, because Laurel Artemis does scan well.

One combo that jumps out at me is Laurel Miriam. Even though I like all the names you listed, when paired with Laurel, the combos seem rather bland and frumpy. :/I do rather like the sound of Laurel Sabela, Laurel Genevieve, Laurel Thaïs, Laurel Mirela, Laurel Kerensa, Laurel Esther, Laurel Rebekah and Laurel Alice. If you're open to Hebrew middle names, how about Laurel Yakira (means 'valuable, precious'), Laurel Devasha, Laurel Vered, Laurel Yaen, Laurel Shiri or Laurel Tzipporah? I hope you find something you like. :)

I love Laurel Miriam! It's perfectLaurel Shiri, Laurel Yakira, Laurel Mirela, and Laurel Alice are lovely...but Laurel Miriam is really speaking to me. Plus, her initials would be alphabetical.
