I really like it. It depends where you live though, in the US it might be a little weird, some people might say Freda Fred-a instead of FREE-da.
Well, it's personal for me, it was my mother's name, so of course I love it.
Her (many!) sisters sometimes called her "Fee".

Love it
I have an Aunt Freda and (had) a Great-Aunt Freda. I grew up with the name so I'm biased. But I do love it. It always sounded like "freedom" to my young ears. I'm thrilled you are considering it. The world needs more Fredas. :-)
I toyed with the idea of using it myself one day. I wasn't sure if I would use Freda as is, or as a nn for something else like Frederica / Fredericka or Elfreda (a quirky favorite of mine) or even Freedom. In the end I decided that Freda was fine on its own. Freda Margaret was my faovrite combination. Have you thought of mns?

I prefer Frieda to Freda and Frida. I think it's a beautiful name.

I think Freda/Frida is very pretty. I pronounce it "FREE da."
I slightly prefer Frida over Freda, because then no one would pronounce it "FRED a."
