I love Ebony. It's one of my favorites and I'll most likely use it as a fn or mn in one of my future daughters' names.

A nice name. I like tree names, and this one is really pretty and it also reminds me of "Ebony and Ivory".

Ebony is pretty. In the US, though, you see it almost exclusively on black females. If any name can be said to be a "black name" Ebony would be such a name. If I met a white Ebony, I would wonder what her parents were trying to prove or suggest. Kind of like if I met a black person named Ivory. Actually, I did know a black man named Ivory, I always wondered what was going on there.
